Snippets of Life

These pictures are random ones of things I saw and thought would make a good picture. Most are of nature but I hope and think that you do not mind. =)

I recently went to Idaho, so I have a lot from there to share with you. (The scenery there is very different than where I live!) However, there's a lot of pictures, and I can't fit those, plus these in one post. So I will split them into two, and start with the random ones. =D

About a month ago, I happened to be outside around 8:30 in the morning and noticed some things I wanted to take pictures of, so I ran back in side and grabbed my camera and spent about a half hour taking pictures. It was really cool. =) I felt like quoting Flynn Rider from Tangled (I love this movie, but do have some objections to some stuff in it.. just FYI), when he said something along the lines of:

All the things we've seen, and it's only 8:30 in the morning! Gentleman, this is going to be a very good day!

These were flowers I picked at our creek.. they were so small and pretty!

A very large bird that was circling our house.. couldn't decide what it was he was moving so much. :P

Do you know how hard it is to photograph bees?

Yes, I know I've taken this picture before. I like to see how it turns out with the different lightnings and stuff. =)

Peonies are beautiful!

I went out to the garden to gather lettuce, and Storm was very cuddly. He followed my all the way down to the garden. =)

Oh yes, and we had two deer visit us the other day! Chester, our horse, didn't seem to be bothered at all!

Sweet Sister PhotoShoot

As I look back at all of my pictures I realize, once again, that they are all of nature. Flowers, trees, grass, etc. Nothings wrong with that, but I need to practice taking pictures of people! Especially since it's a whole new 'angle' of photography. My only question was, where am I going to find people? Sure, I could take pictures randomly of my family, but I need someone to sit for five minutes in the same position so I can practice on them. Great.. who's that going to be? Turns out, I have a sister who was more than willing to be my model. =D So that is what this post features, our results from the two PhotoShoots we've done so far. =) I personally like the 2nd one better, where she's in jeans. I learned a ton, just from the first one. Such as, even the sun is cool, there can be to much of it! =) So the 2nd one turned out better because I knew a little bit more than the first time. =D

As I was looking through the lens of my camera, I was struck with a thought: My little sister is growing up! whoa, whoa, slow down. Is this really the little girl that randomly plays the piano until I'm ready to throw myself on my knees begging her to stop? That used to play dress-up with cute little ballet tutus, or made a fort and colored in it? The little girl that refused to read cuz it was 'boring'? I guess that was a long time ago... she's learning to play the piano better (though she still does make want to do that), it's no longer ballet tutus that she dresses up in, but long dresses are donned instead, to go film the play she wrote. Reading is no longer boring, but exciting. That is, as long as it's the right book. And she's no longer cute, but pretty. Ah, how fast the years fly...

I learned that night that too much sun, is possible. =)
