Sweet Sister PhotoShoot

Saturday, May 25, 2013
As I look back at all of my pictures I realize, once again, that they are all of nature. Flowers, trees, grass, etc. Nothings wrong with that, but I need to practice taking pictures of people! Especially since it's a whole new 'angle' of photography. My only question was, where am I going to find people? Sure, I could take pictures randomly of my family, but I need someone to sit for five minutes in the same position so I can practice on them. Great.. who's that going to be? Turns out, I have a sister who was more than willing to be my model. =D So that is what this post features, our results from the two PhotoShoots we've done so far. =) I personally like the 2nd one better, where she's in jeans. I learned a ton, just from the first one. Such as, even the sun is cool, there can be to much of it! =) So the 2nd one turned out better because I knew a little bit more than the first time. =D

As I was looking through the lens of my camera, I was struck with a thought: My little sister is growing up! whoa, whoa, slow down. Is this really the little girl that randomly plays the piano until I'm ready to throw myself on my knees begging her to stop? That used to play dress-up with cute little ballet tutus, or made a fort and colored in it? The little girl that refused to read cuz it was 'boring'? I guess that was a long time ago... she's learning to play the piano better (though she still does make want to do that), it's no longer ballet tutus that she dresses up in, but long dresses are donned instead, to go film the play she wrote. Reading is no longer boring, but exciting. That is, as long as it's the right book. And she's no longer cute, but pretty. Ah, how fast the years fly...

I learned that night that too much sun, is possible. =)

A ring my mom gave me. =) So old fashioned!

Love the look on her face..

The moon was surprisingly visible that late afternoon!

This PhotoShoot was my favorite!

Probably my favorite out of all of them. Love the focus.

2nd favorite: This position makes her look so much older.
I adore stripes!

I'm sorry it took so long to post these, Blogger was refusing to upload pictures - stubborn thing. I hope this large post makes up for it!

  1. I love all of the pictures!!! You did an awesome job! ;D And your paragraph in the beginning is SO TRUE!!!! (About your siblings( and I start to think, mine!) ;D) I really want to do a photo-shoot with some one as well, but now I have to wait for warmer weather! ;D I should start though with some foliage as I haven't done that yet.

    1. Thanks so much Elinor! I was very pleased with how they turned out. =)

Yes, sadly they are growing up. It's good - but sad! YNature is very easy most of the time. =) And very fun, but so are people! Do send me any results from your photoshoots!

  2. Wow! Those are really good! I love the lighting. You must have an awesome camera! Willow (my older sister) and I are looking to find a good camera. What kind is it, may I ask? I'd love to know!

Let's see... I have a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS. It's actually my moms, but I use it all the time. :P It is a really nice camera, I love it. Here's a link to the page on Amazon (who's selling it, obviously) that shows the exact one I have. That way you can get details and see what it looks like. =) I'm sure you'd love it!
